A Warm Place to Live Together

“A Warm Place to Live Together

Humans are not merely physical beings. The space we stride through is a social space. We humans are distinguished from objects in that we can ‘understand’ each other. One of the skills that guides us to coexist amicably and in solidarity within a social space is empathy.

  • From Joachim Bauer’s ‘The Empathic Gene’ –

For the space we breathe and live in to become a social space, understanding and empathy are necessary. When sound resonates, a phenomenon called resonance occurs. One vibration joins with another to create harmony. This is called resonance. People are the same way. When we understand, accept, and empathize, physical distance disappears, and harmony arises. A warm place to live together is created.”
