Between the Lines and the Blank Spaces

Between the Lines and the Blank Spaces

One more thing, one of the things I consider important in writing is ‘blank spaces’. A picture with blank spaces is more pleasing to the eye than one that is completely filled. There is more room to think and space to breathe.

The same goes for writing. Writing that is filled with explanations is hard to read. When the writer explains everything, there is no need to think otherwise. It is better to show the ‘scene’ as if painting a picture rather than ‘explaining’.

*There is a saying that “great books have wide margins.” Classics have wide margins. They have blank spaces, and the writing feels like a picture. As people grow older and gain wisdom in life, there comes a time when they can finally see what they couldn’t before. Blank spaces also appear. It is one of life’s joys.
