A Dream Come True
At the age of 49, I embarked on my first overseas trip. Every day felt like a battle, and I believed that traveling abroad was a luxury reserved for those with ample time and money. Yet, here I was, standing on the Siberian plains, which I had only seen in novels and movies like “Doctor Zhivago,” “Anna Karenina,” and “War and Peace.”
Sometimes, dreams come true. Things we never dared to dream of or only imagined in our wildest dreams become reality. These moments can be seen as rewards for our past, or consequences of how we lived. Either way, they mark the beginning of a new life. How we choose to remember and carry forward these experiences becomes our task. A sculptor leaves behind sculptures, a traveler leaves behind tales of their journey.
