The Boundaries Between Joy and Sorrow
In times of peace, anxiety may come. Even in hardship, happiness will return. As I think these thoughts, the boundaries between the very sad and the very joyful have blurred significantly. I acknowledge that the world, nature, and my heart are constantly changing. When I feel that all things are connected within a vibrant, flowing system, I feel a sense of reverence.
Sad events and joyful events have no boundaries. They are all connected. They flow like water, like the wind. Sorrow can flow into joy and joy into sorrow again. Thus, there’s no need to dwell too much on either sorrow or joy. By living without clinging to any one thing, there is neither extreme joy nor extreme sorrow.
Joy, Sorrow, Flow
