A teacher can create a guiding star in a child’s heart. I remember reading in Haim Ginott’s book, “The Key to Classroom Management,” that “a teacher sets the weather for the classroom. It can be cloudy or clear.”
The classroom, like the weather, is always changing. The teacher is at the center. With their words, expressions, and gaze, they can stir up storms or calm the seas. And then, one day, a guiding star may appear in a child’s heart. This star becomes a life goal, an inner compass, leading the child into the future. Placing that guiding star in a child’s heart is the noble role of a teacher.
