“God, please help me!”
There were nights when I prayed fervently. “God, please help me. They say You answer those who pray sincerely.” But every time I prayed through my tears, silence was the only response. I curled up like a caterpillar, cried, and eventually fell asleep. I had a long, warm dream. In the dream, I was a small child.
Everyone has likely prayed fervently at least once in their lives. Sometimes, it wasn’t even a prayer but a cry of anguish and despair. On peaceful days, we don’t pray. It’s only when life or death is at stake, filled with despair and fear, that we finally cry out in prayer. And then, when there’s no answer, we turn away. At some point, we realize: No answer was the answer.
pray, silence, realization
