“From a young age, I was always told I was the eldest son. As the oldest, I had to be upright. If my younger siblings went astray, it was my responsibility to guide them. I heard this even before entering elementary school. To confess, those words were burdensome… I often worried about what to do as the eldest son.”
The concept of the “eldest son” has become rare, partly because there are now many only children. Being the eldest brother involves leading younger siblings, resolving conflicts among them, and feeling a great sense of responsibility. However, being the eldest does not mean one is always upright or always better than the younger siblings. There are many difficulties and anxieties, but one must still fulfill the role of the eldest son.
