“The invention of hardship

“The invention of hardship” Thinker Paul Virilio once said, “The invention of the airplane is the invention of the crash, and the invention of the ship is the invention of the shipwreck.” Similarly, one could say that the invention of life is the invention of hardship. Just as it’s impossible to completely eliminate accidents in the operation of airplanes or ships, it’s impossible to eliminate hardship in the course of life. Therefore, saying that life is hard is, to a large extent, a tautology. Living means persistently enduring hardship.

Life will always be hard. Hardship is constantly repeated, and this repetition can’t be removed or avoided. So the answer is simple: cultivate the strength to endure hardship. As more challenging days come, build physical and inner strength to endure better than yesterday. Hardship itself is an invention that leads to happiness.
