Understanding the Heart

Understanding the Heart

We often use the word ‘heart’ in our daily lives: “my heart hurts,” “my heart feels at ease,” “my heart is troubled,” “my heart is happy,” “my heart is narrow-minded,” “my heart is generous,” “it depends on my heart,” “it doesn’t go as my heart wishes,” “my heart has changed,” “my heart is consistent”… These expressions show that happiness and unhappiness are both influenced by the state of the heart.

Having even one person who understands your heart is enough. It makes you feel less lonely, less hurt, and less unhappy. Understanding the heart is like reading it. It involves perceiving the subtle feelings, emotions, and moods and sharing your heart with others. When hearts connect, everything else falls into place. We improve together.
