Compassion

Compassion
A world without empathy is a world indifferent to others. If we are indifferent to others, we are indifferent to ourselves. Sharing the suffering of others takes us beyond selfish neglect and harshness, into a greater and more expansive landscape of wisdom and compassion.

When we are indifferent to others, it is easy to become indifferent to ourselves and to the world we live in. The unempathetic words and actions that spring forth unconsciously are a result of this indifference. So why do we become indifferent to others? It is because we lack compassion for others. By looking at others with compassionate eyes and a compassionate heart, we can revive our senses and express empathetic words.
