‘When did I start finding joy in reading?’
Han Mi-Hwa, the author of ‘Nine-Year-Old Reading Class,’ would ask people, “When did you start enjoying reading?” She also asked herself, “When did I start finding joy in reading?” One day, she came across the book ‘Sherlock Holmes,’ followed by ‘Arsène Lupin.’
Reading is a great pathway to indirect experiences. The younger you are when you enjoy this path, the more you can gain insights into the wide world you haven’t directly experienced. While it’s regrettable to see the decreasing reading time among young people, the cause lies with adults. Parents need to find joy in reading for their children to also love reading.
