The Mystical Harmony of Memory

The Mystical Harmony of Memory

Humanity has relentlessly surged forward. Despite the speed and distance we’ve traveled, we remain connected to the distant past through what Abraham Lincoln called the “mystical harmony of memory.” I imagine this harmony stretching back to the beginning of life 3.5 billion years ago. Our existence is the legacy left by countless ancestors through myriad unions—an imagination that isn’t far-fetched at all.

According to modern science, the universe was born from the Big Bang 15 billion years ago. Life began in the solar system and on Earth 3.5 billion years ago, and humanity emerged roughly 7 million years ago. While we can’t remember all of this, it is all harmoniously stored in our memory cells. Not a single element is disconnected. It is simply mystical.
