I often thought about it. If I had taken those early warning signs a bit more seriously, if I hadn’t brushed them off so lightly, I could have prevented the worst. Ultimately, the choice to ignore those signs cost me dearly, and I paid a harsh price.
Every situation comes with ‘early warning signs.’ Major disasters always have ‘precursors.’ When you’re stuck in a routine, you might miss them. Even if you notice, you might pass them by thinking ‘it’ll be fine.’ The cost of such ignorance is enormous and devastating. Properly responding to the ‘early warning signs’ could have prevented the worst.
