The Last Lover

Once a wife of nature,
Once a fisherman’s spouse,
Once a free soul.

Now,
I hope to be your final lover.

To be reborn as a poet,
To belong to all as a lover of humanity.

Humanity is often divided into two kinds of people: those with lovers and those without. “Lovers” can include a spouse, partner, or even a close friend. The first love and the last love may not be the same, but the “last lover” holds a special place—a partner in spirit and connection, even beyond life.
