The Disaster Sown by Humans
Just because humans are at the top of the food chain, it doesn’t mean we have the right to treat the living creatures on this Earth as if they are expendable. If we continue to treat animals and plants as tools for our own benefit, we will face severe consequences. The repeated outbreaks of diseases in recent times are the result of humanity’s excessive interference with wildlife and their habitats, and even the destruction of them.
The Earth is suffering. The land is sick, the water is polluted, and the air is contaminated. Moreover, plants and animals are also affected. Multiple disasters are happening all at once. The coronavirus is just one of them. Even if we develop a vaccine, new variants or more dangerous diseases could emerge. All of this is the disaster sowed by humans, the supposed top predators. We need to start by finding ways to restore the land, water, air, and the plants and animals.
