What Makes a Good Father?
What does it truly mean to be a good father?
Many fathers believe that having a well-respected job and earning a good salary is enough to fulfill their role.
But as I reflect on my own life, I recall moments that make me uneasy. I preached to my children about the importance of living with integrity, yet I often failed to follow the small rules myself—rules that may have seemed insignificant to me but could create confusion for my children.
Being a good father is incredibly challenging. There are no rankings, no set criteria. It’s not about your career, wealth, looks, or reputation. Many fathers give their best for their families, only to find their children hurt or disappointed.
However, when I look back, I see the image of my own father—someone I can no longer meet—and find within him the essence of a good dad. His love for books filled our home. He taught me the importance of reading, marking passages, and keeping notes. Thanks to him, I am who I am today.
