“The First-Class Seatbelt Won’t Buckle”
I had a flight to New York.
As a successful TV drama writer, I booked a spacious, comfortable first-class seat.
Settling in, I took off my shoes, pulled out a book, and reached for the seatbelt.
But—it wouldn’t fasten.
“Excuse me, the seatbelt is broken, right? It’s not working, is it?”
No. It wasn’t broken.
I was simply too overweight to fit into it.
Blaming the seatbelt wouldn’t change anything.
The real issue was my own body.
Weight gain follows a pattern—lose track of the first boundary, and the pounds pile on.
Miss another turning point, and it spirals out of control.
Getting back to your former self is never easy.
