Depression and Regret

Depression and Regret

When you’re walking forward, constantly looking back makes it hard to keep your pace. You might stumble or even run into something. That’s what depression feels like. Regret that comes from a heavy heart doesn’t help you find direction or build momentum. Depression and regret feed off each other.
Looking back at your past isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes it’s necessary—for reflection, for growth, for healing old wounds. Regret may surface, but it’s important not to let it pull you into sadness. Turning around shouldn’t be a step backward into sorrow—it can be the first hopeful step toward your future.
