A Centenarian Professor’s Take on Health
To me, good health is essential—
not as an end goal, but as a means to keep working.
Work is the purpose. Health is what makes it possible.
If someone asks who’s healthier among my friends,
the answer is simple:
just look at who’s still working the most.
Right now, I believe I’m one of the healthiest—
because I’m still doing more work than anyone I know.
For me, work is the secret to staying healthy.
Professor Kim Hyung-seok once famously said,
“Living to 100, I’ve found that the prime of life
is between 65 and 80.”
While most people slow down at that age,
he found himself working even more.
The reason? He stayed healthy.
Just like work, health doesn’t come automatically.
You have to build it while you’re young
so you can enjoy your peak years later in life.
health, work, longevity
