Speak Softly

Speak Softly

I’ve learned from experience that speaking in a calm, low voice is more effective when guiding children. Later, I even read that science backs this up.
When we raise our voice—even if we’re saying something right—the other person often shuts down before hearing the message. The loudness itself becomes the problem. No matter how valid our words are, they get lost in the noise.
That’s why the more important the message, the softer the tone should be.
The voice we use in anger is different from the voice we use in love.
You can tell everything from just the way someone speaks.
Love doesn’t shout—it whispers.
Even a quiet murmur can carry deep meaning.
Whether praising or correcting a child, a gentle voice works best.
