When You Feel the Urge to Control

When You Feel the Urge to Control

Control is often rooted in inner anxiety.
I’ve noticed that when I feel unsettled,
I tend to try and manage others—
telling them what to do, how to act, what to change.
But now, when that urge rises,
I pause and ask myself:
Why do I feel the need to control?
When I’m anxious,
I start seeing others as anxious too.
That’s when I begin to interfere, to direct, to control.
But before trying to manage someone else,
I need to manage myself.
Projecting my own anxiety onto others
only makes things worse.
