Finding joy in work

Finding joy in work

Work is a constant.
It’s like eating or breathing—
something that stays with us throughout life.
Work doesn’t just appear out of nowhere,
and it doesn’t vanish overnight.
Even after we’re gone,
the work we’ve done continues.
Whatever we choose to do—
if it brings light to the darker corners of society,
if it helps people connect with each other and the world—
that’s meaningful work.
And the future we’re building depends on it.
We often say,
“I’m drowning in work.”
But that’s a kind of happy complaint.
Imagine having no work at all—
that’s when life feels truly empty.
Doing something with joy,
giving it your full attention,
pouring your energy into it—
that’s how we honor the work we’ve been given.
