What the Body Reveals

What the Body Reveals

We can’t truly understand someone’s life just by looking at their body.
Still, I believe the body reflects the life it has lived.
In one way or another, our experiences leave their mark.
My husband is lean, but his muscles are firm.
When I learned that those muscles were shaped by long days of labor in his early twenties—
working construction to support his struggling family—
even the old scars on his body felt like symbols of his dedication and strength.
I fell in love with him all over again—
with the young man I never met, and with the man he is today.
Even if a body isn’t smooth or flawless—
even if it’s rough, weathered, or marked by small wounds—
it’s okay.
If those marks are the result of living each day with honesty, courage, and purpose,
then that body, and the time it represents, is truly beautiful.
