A Small Pot Planted in the Garden of My Soul

A Small Pot Planted in the Garden of My Soul

Even in a city without soil,
you can still enjoy a garden.
Just one small pot is enough—plants will find a way to show their charm.
Even in a stark apartment, a single pot on the balcony
can bring more joy than a sprawling backyard.
That’s why someone once called a flowerpot
“the world’s smallest garden.”

Every royal palace in Europe has a beautiful courtyard garden.
After seeing the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna,
I was inspired to create my own quiet retreat.
Schönbrunn means “beautiful spring” in German.
And when I asked myself,
what is the most beautiful spring in the world?
A childhood song about a hidden spring in the forest came to mind.
So I planted a small pot in the garden of my soul—
a quiet offering to heal what’s been hurt.
