Writing a Letter of Gratitude

Writing a Letter of Gratitude

After spending just thirty minutes
writing a thank-you letter by hand,
the fog of fear, anger, and self-pity lifted.
I felt lighter, more at peace.
One of the most comforting things
about writing a gratitude letter
is that it leaves behind something tangible.
I didn’t keep copies of the letters,
but I could feel them making
a small, positive ripple in the world around me.

In the blur of everyday life,
I often said thank you out of habit,
without truly feeling it.
Reading this book helped me notice
the moments I had overlooked—
the ones that deserved real gratitude.
Every single day of the year
holds something to be thankful for.
Even now, just being alive
and writing these words of thanks
is reason enough.
