The Uncertain Youth of Our Time
Youth is often wrapped in words of praise—celebrated as the golden age of life, a time for love, passion, and romance. These sentiments echo across generations. Yet today, such admiration feels more like illusion than truth. The reality for many young people now is marked by sacrifice and uncertainty, with the present and future clouded by doubt. In Korea, the term “Sampo Generation” once described those giving up on dating, marriage, and children. Now, we speak of the “Opo” and even “Chilpo Generation,” where dreams and hope are added to the list of things abandoned. This era drains the spirit of youth and leaves their future unclear. But there is no other way—we must keep trying. Even after failure, we rise again with courage, share that courage through love, and the path will open.
