Prayer for You

Today I prayed to God again. Because I love you, I asked Him to take all the pain you are carrying and place it on me. I wished that every joy I might have in this life would be given to you, and in return, all of your sorrow would be mine to bear. Why does such a desperate prayer rise from my heart? The answer is simple: it comes from deep love. When someone loves another more than themselves, even the burden of misfortune becomes a prayer offered with tears. Only those who truly love with all their heart can pray with such sincerity for the one they cherish.
