Remembered Life
What is forgotten might as well never have happened at all. As the years go by and life moves into its later chapters, you come to realize that memories—of people, places, moments—are what truly drive and sustain us. It’s memory that gives depth and meaning to our existence. If you want a richer, fuller life, the only way is to make the effort to remember.
Lately I’ve been thinking about how, out of everything that happens every single day, so few things actually stay with me in my memory. It makes me a little sad. Since a deep and abundant life is built from the things we choose to hold onto, I want to be more intentional about cherishing my experiences, keeping them close, and turning them into stories worth telling.
