Loving People As They Are

Loving People As They Are

Learning how to truly love someone as they are takes a long time. We often carry a deep habit of trying to mold those around us into versions of ourselves. That effort is easily mistaken for love or affection, but in reality, it is not. Genuine love is not about reshaping another person; it is about embracing them fully, without conditions, and holding them close just as they are.

It is never easy to see someone exactly as they are and love them without trying to change them. This is especially true with children, where we often feel the urge to push our own thoughts and ways onto them. Yet that is not love. Real love is found in the quiet strength of acceptance, in the warmth of simply holding and cherishing them as they are.
