That’s why I left my hometown of Tokyo and came to live as a farmer on an island. This is just one perspective, but the most important thing in this world is tranquility. The mountain is serene.

The mountain is always serene. Its colors change with the seasons, but it is always serene, beautiful, and peaceful. So I go to the mountain. The serenity and peace of the mountain come to me and speak, “Be serene!” The noise in my mind quiets down, and I realize what is most important in this world.
