Standing Before the Mirror

I stand before the mirror
and adjust my tie.
That moment in the past—
it becomes a reflection in the glass,
a way to measure who I am today.

It’s not just about straightening my tie,
or styling my hair neatly,
or dressing well.
What matters more
is the condition of my heart.

Is my heart still as honest
and clear as it once was?
Or has the clarity faded—
clouded with pride or weariness?

No—I won’t forget who I was.
I won’t let the grime of ego
dull my soul.
I’ll live on with a heart
that stays clean and true.

I, too, stand before the mirror.
There were plenty of struggles last year,
plenty of setbacks.
But each challenge
was also a reflection—
a chance to see who I was becoming.

And in that mirror today,
I make this quiet promise:
Even when it’s hard,
I’ll keep chasing good dreams.
I’ll protect the spirit I started with.
