Fighting Within the Workplace
When I worked as a CEO, I often felt a strange satisfaction when departments clashed. To be honest, those who argued sometimes looked admirable, as if their passion proved their dedication. But there were moments when the fight was no longer about work—it became personal, emotional, and destructive. Such battles can tear an organization apart. On the other hand, those who always avoid conflict can be just as harmful, because silence in the face of necessary debate weakens the team.
Working hard inevitably brings disagreements and even fights. If the conflict is driven by selfless goals, it can lead to positive outcomes. But when arguments escalate, explode, and repeat, they create destructive cycles. The real question is not whether to fight, but why and how you fight.
Choose your battles wisely.
